Build Leg Muscle

Will playing soccer help build leg muscle?
Well I play soccer, and I play “sweaper”. In other words, I am sprinting in bursts of about ten to fifteen seconds about 60% of a whole game. The other percent is a walk to a jog. However, I also workout my legs every week with weights at a gym. My question is, am I contradicting myself? Will running decrease or increase my muscle in my legs?
running will just add on to the weights your lifting, so yes you will continue to increase your leg muscles with running
